There once was a princess. She fell in love with a Prince and they lived happily ever alter. I went to their wedding. I’ve got the pictures to prove it.
When I was a weird 15 year old kid who could not make a single bit of sense out of the high school environment, Laura showed up in my life. She made my high school years. We would spend the night together, pretending to be studying (which basically consists on having our folders open but by no means taking the tiniest glance at the pages in them), and we would laugh, and drift, and think about the future and all the thing we wanted to do, and talk about our dreams and the things we wanted to achieve.
I turned 17 and left the town. I had to get the fuck out of there. I love being from where I’m from. I love the perspective that it gave me in life. When you come from a small town in the outskirts of the Amazonian rainforest, you appreciate big cities in a very different way, I can ensure you that. But I really had to leave.
Laure lives there, and she just got married to a friend of mine. I wish them both nothing but happiness. I wish them both to carry on complementing each other as perfectly as they have been doing it for the past 5 years. Or maybe 6. God. I’m getting old.
